About Our Urniary Tract Infection Panel

We screen UTIs for 24 pathogens and 8 antibiotic resistance markers simultaneously by utilizing advanced molecular identification techniques. We also provide optional antibiotic sensitivity testing.

Within one day of receiving a sample, our lab is able to identify what organism(s) are responsible for a patient’s infection, and if they have antibiotic-resistant genes. With Antibiotic Sensitivity Testing, our lab can tell you how sensitive those organisms are to a variety of antibiotics 24 hours later.

Antibiotic Sensitivity Testing

Our BD Phoenix system uses multiple indicators to detect growth of organisms in the presence of dozens of antibiotics at different concentrations within 16 hours.

The inclusion of all reported antimicrobial concentrations on the BD panel provides the foundation for detection of emerging resistance. Simply stated, the Phoenix Susceptibility System was designed to detect antimicrobial resistance today and in the future.
